Bump Rock School is next weekend.

Day 1 we will be at les dalles and day 2 we will be at Joe's Garage/ l-shape.

It's probaby a good idea to skip those crags on the days we plan to be there, especially Joe's easy routes on Sunday. Go to McQuirks

Rock School has been postponed to next Spring. (Lack of participants)

Crazy considering the weather is supposed to be phenomenal. See y'all out there!

That's a surprising development. To my knowledge, fall Rock School has been running continuously since I became involved at UNBRI in 2002.

Do you think this is indicative of a trend? How much excitement was there for the club at it's year-opening meeting? New faces? I'm out-of-touch with how many new folks are taking up the pursuit. Any opinions?

We've marketed Rock School similarly to past years where I've been involved but there were only 4 participants signed-up.

I'm not around the wall that much but Shawn the President tells me that there are less new faces this year.

My experience is that it comes and goes in waves. For instance RS 2 years ago we had 8 participants whereas last year we had 20+.

Same with Advanced RS - in 2012, the last year Chris H. ran it, he had to cancel because of a lack of participants. The following year we had a great turnout (16 I believe) and even had climbers on the wait list.

So, before we start saying that this is indicative of a trend, we should wait and see what the next year or two holds.
