Bolt hangers

Postby Dom » Sun Apr 28, 2013 6:20 pm

It has been brought to my attention that one of the hangers on Joint Venture had fallen off yesterday. No big deal but few things to consider with hangers in general.

-They come loose.
-First bolt hangers and crux bolts hangers have a tendency to come loose more often.

What you should do if you encounter a loose hanger:

-Tighten the nut with your fingers and post about it on CEC.
-BETTER YET, put an adjustable wrench in your pack and tighten it on the spot. Tighten it just snug enough that it won't budge. Do not crank on it!!

I noticed that a few hangers were loose at Bald Cloud Bear. I will tighten them with a wrench next time I go there (hopefully this week- what an awesome forecast :D )
