Those (and a stainless steel version -which I've been using for 3 years on countless routes and is still like new!) are available at NAPA auto parts, which there is in Freddy. The Atlantic distribution centre is in Moncton, so offer free next day delivery to your nearest location. Should be no problem to get 20. 2) I dropped a dollop of one-minute epoxy (from the dollar store) down a couple of the handle holes and remedied the separation issue.

At $6 a pop for the NAPA brush I think I will stick with Princess Auto....

Greg,
Are you still willing/able to see if Princess Auto has enough brushes to equip us for the cleaning day? If you can score 25-30 I'll reimburse you.

The next time I am there I will pick them up.

Are we solid on the date? Weekend of October 24, 25?

My count is 15 people signed up........should be enough to polish a bunch of lines.

I can't make that date Adam. I'll try to do my cleaning (instead of just "talking" about it) either this weekend or when I get back.

I can still make it, but only Sunday (working in PEI on Sat.)
Jeremy will be away, so I will need someone to point me in the right direction (what route to clean, etc)

I'm out. My parents are in town next weekend and I don't see them very often. I wouldn't miss out on time with my mommy for anything. :)

I'll still clean chocolate eclair though it might be in the spring.

Greg,

I'm going to be doing some cleaning during the week of the 19th (monday, tuesday, etc.... weather dependant). If you are going to Cochrane Lane this weekend, maybe you could leave a couple of those wire brushes in the sign-in box with a note saying "For Andrew Martin". I've got a wire brush but I running out of skin on my knuckles and those looks super awesome.

Adam,

Can't clean in the rain? I cleaned some routes with heavy growth on them after a rain day. Granted it's harder, but I was determined :)

All the major dirt digging and gardening has been done on Think Pure Thoughts and Catholic Girls. I scrubbed the top half of both. You'll be able to tell where I left off. Ran out of daylight. So if someone next weekend wants to finish them up go for it. Otherwise it will be mid-Nov before I can get back to it.

P.S. If you are planning on doing either of these routes, expect dirt covered holds on the bottom half.

I have never been apart of a cleaning crew and am still learning my way around cochrane lane but i want to be a body out there to help out. Can I hook up with someone from freddy to head out there when the time comes? What special gear should I be bringing.

An old rope if you have it will keep any new cord new. Ascenders help. Shunt or prussik/autoblock backup for your rappel device. Eye protection to keep lichen out. Head protection if you have anything to protect. Work gloves to save your knuckles. Accessory cord to tie loops to clip cleaning tools to your harness.

The weather is not looking good for this weekend so we're going to have to postpone. No effective cleaning can be done in the rain I'm afraid.

Tentative make up date is the weekend of Nov 7/8...

Thanks for all the interest in helping, hope everyone can still make it!

I plan on being there Saturday. Sunday is looking okay too.

Last weekend I did some cleaning around MTH. There is now more roof to play on. This is a really fun line and should see some more traffic.
